"Creates a vertical beam that clears ghosts above and below" - Game Description
Beam is a Power-Up found in Pac-Man 256. When consumed, a green vertical laser shoots out of Pac-Man that goes north and south and kills ghosts that run into it. The Beam Power-Up requires _ Pac-Dots to be eaten before unlocked (Console and PC version), or can be bought for a limited time in the Mobile version.
