— Official episode description[1]

The episode opens at Maze High, where Pac and the rest of his class wait to take a math test on an abnormally hot day. However, before the test is handed out, the class is interrupted by a PSA directly from the President. President Spheros introduces Pac-World to the very first de-sliming station, invented by Sir Cumference. The president is about to make a statement before the station's first test run when he is cut off by his Secretary of Security, O'Drool, who boasts about how he was the one who performed a safety inspection on the de-sliming station. In response, Sir Cumference reveals that O'Drool will also be the one to be de-slimed as part of a test run. The scientist then cheekily throws a bucket of slime onto the Secretary, much to the latter's dismay.

Even though O'Drool had assumed that the President would partake in the demonstration, Spheros explains that he chose not to in order to avoid the threat of an accident. The test commences, and everything seems to run smoothly; however, during the last phase of the de-sliming process, the station malfunctions, and its control panel blows up in Sir C's face. Fortunately, O'Drool is able to be recovered from within the station, but not without a few injuries. Having been embarrassed in front of an entire planet, Spheros attempts to save face by claiming that the station is not fully finished. Sir C, on the other hand, insists that his invention is perfectly safe and speculates that the current heat wave must have caused it to break down. Unbeknownst to everyone else, Betrayus and his new pet plant had watched the entire broadcast play out. Afterwards, he tells his pet that the heat is part of one of his many schemes to take over Pac-World.

As the temperature continues to rise, Pac, Spiral, and Cylindria find it difficult to concentrate on their tests. Suddenly, the class is interrupted by another broadcast from the Round House. Suspecting that the heat wave was artificial in origin, Spheros had O'Drool conduct an investigation. Instead of providing Pac-World with an answer, however, O'Drool confidently states that he has no idea what is going on, much to the President's disbelief. Although the Secretary plans to continue his "research," he indicates that he already knows who he wants to indict. Meanwhile, Betrayus is gloating about how his plan has been a success thus far. Dr. Buttocks enters the Throne Room to complain about his superior taking credit for his idea, but Betrayus and his pet plant are quick to humble him. Buttocks is then sent back to the Super Furnace with orders to heat it up. Located just outside of Dr. Buttocks' laboratory, the Super Furnace houses three enslaved Dragons. Once the mad scientist returns, he starts torturing the Dragons to breathe fire into the Furnace, making both it and Pac-World hotter.

As the temperature on Pac-World becomes less and less tolerable, Spheros issues yet another broadcast. As the President presses him for an unambiguous answer, Secretary O'Drool formally declares Sir Cumference to be his prime suspect, with his only justification being the grudge he is holding against the scientist. O'Drool announces his intentions to hold Sir C accountable right before the broadcast is cut. Having already finished their tests, Pac, Spiral, and Cylindria rush out of the classroom to help Sir Cumference. The trio make it to the lab just as O'Drool is about to arrest the scientist. Even as Sir C begins to question whether he really was at fault, the trio remain loyal to their friend, insisting that, in spite of his faults, Sir C would never harm Pac-World with his inventions. O'Drool attempts to assert his authority when two Feds enter the lab to inform the group that the Tree of Life was dying. Upon hearing this, Sir Cumference makes plans to check on the Tree's condition; however, before he can leave, O'Drool places him under house arrest and shuts down the lab.

O'Drool reveals that he intends on saving the Tree of Life himself in order to win the next election. He orders the two Feds to take him to the Tree's location, but because they aren't allowed to know such a thing, they don't do anything. Frustrated, O'Drool has the Feds guard the lab while he talks to the President. Cylindria manages to take care of the Secretary by asking Spheros to stall for time via text. Then, Fuzbitz gives the teens an idea of how to bypass the Feds. All three start pretending to be tired. Sir Cumference doesn't catch to their plan, but Grinder does. He opens the foldable beds behind where the Feds are standing, trapping them underneath and allowing his creator to escape with the trio.

Pac, Spiral, Cylindria, and Sir C make it to the Tree's hidden location. All four are shocked to see the state the Tree of Life is in, but they are unsure of what to do. Suddenly, Pac gets an idea and picks an Ice Berry from the Tree. His goal is to transform into Ice Pac and create a wall of ice to cool the Tree. He eats the Berry, but as soon as he transforms, the Berry's effect wears off. Sir Cumference explains that the scorching heat had depleted the Power Berries' energy, rendering all but the ones in Pac's Berry Dispenser useless. The group realizes that they must hurry and stop the heat wave before the Tree of Life dies. Outside, the temperature has risen so much that tremors have started to occur, causing the ground to split open and steam to vent out. While dealing with the surrounding chaos, Sir Cumference discovers a vital clue: giant Venus Dragon Flytrap, a species of plant native to the Netherworld. Pac and his friends now knew who was really behind the heat, but first they had to stop the enormous plants from terrorizing Pacopolis' citizens. Fortunately, Pac manages to immobilize the Dragon Flytraps by tricking them into knotting their stems around two tubes. Shortly afterwards, Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde arrive to explain Betrayus' scheme in detail. Due to the Tree of Life's current condition, Pac is forced to venture into the Netherworld with no other allies other than the Ghost Gang.

Once Pac and the four Ghosts reach the Super Furnace, they hide behind a large rock to avoid being spotted. They watch in appall as Dr. Buttocks continues to exploit the Dragons for more heat. After assessing the situation, Pac flies over to the furnace to face Dr. Buttocks directly. Terrified by Pac's presence, Buttocks releases the Dragons from their shackles and begs them to attack, but—unsurprisingly—they refuse to help the ghost who had mistreated them, allowing Pac to easily chomp him. Next, Pac resolves to take care of the Super Furnace, but he quickly realizes that the three Dragons he had rescued aren't willing to lend him a hand. While dodging all the Dragons' attacks, he comes up with a risky idea to kill two birds with one stone. He flies away from the Dragons, luring them towards the Super Furnace. He hovers in front of the furnace's chimney for a while, and then, at the last second, he ducks, causing all three to crash into the building. The chimney collapses, and the furnace itself explodes.

With the Super Furnace destroyed, Pac-World's temperature returns to normal. Pac flies to the Round House in a Cherry Copter, so he can attend the President's latest announcement in-person. President Spheros publicly apologizes to Sir Cumference for having made him into a scapegoat. All of a sudden, Secretary O'Drool barges in and demands that the President arrest Pac, Spiral, and Cyli for disobeying his orders. In response, Spheros fires O'Drool and has him escorted from the Round House.

Meanwhile, in the Netherworld, Butt-ler, Betrayus, and his pet Dragon Flytrap are left to deal with the smoke created when the Super Furnace exploded. Betrayus demands to see Dr. Buttocks so that he can punish him, but Blinky tells him that he'll have to wait as the Dragons are busy getting revenge on the mad scientist.
