"Pac-Man: "Aha! I spy my first Golden Fruit!"
Pac-Man: "Alright, Clyde, the jig is up! How about handing over that fruit?"
Clyde: "P-Pac-Man?!"
Clyde: "That's a no-can-do! Back off, you hear me?! I'm under strict orders to not let you near the Golden Fruit!"
Clyde: "You'll have to pry this from my cold, lifeless hands!"
Pac-Man: "Is that a frog?"

Blinky's Killer Frog, alternatively known as Clyde's Killer Frog, is the first boss level, and the 5th level overall, in Pac-Man World 2 and its remake, Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac. In this level, Pac-Man fights against Clyde (originally erroneously dubbed as Blinky), who pilots a giant mechanical frog. This boss battle takes place in Paradise Meadows.

Due to the original Pac-Man World 2 game featuring the Clyde and Blinky error, this stage has the player fight against Clyde, despite being named after Blinky. The stage name is corrected to "Clyde's Killer Frog" in Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac.

Summary[]

Upon arriving, Clyde is surprised to see Pac-Man and reveals Spooky ordered him not to let Pac-Man have the Golden Fruit. Clyde also tells him that Pac-Man will never defeat his giant frog, as long as he doesn't butt-bounce on its main method of attack, its spiked tongue. With this "hint" (careless giveaway) given to Pac-Man, he butt-bounces on the frog's wooden tongue three times (twice in the Japanese version), damaging it severely.

After Pac-Man butt-bounces on the Frog's tongue three times, Clyde restores the tongue. Now, it is made of something Pac-Man can't break: steel. Clyde foolishly tells Pac-Man not to rev-roll. Pac-Man rev-rolls into the frog's now glowing mouth, weakening the tongue from the root. After three hits (two in the Japanese version) in the mouth, not only does the tongue break, but the whole frog as well. With the mechanical amphibian destroyed and Clyde defeated, Pac-Man regains the first golden fruit, the Golden Cherry.

Re-Pac[]

Clyde can be seen playing with the Golden Cherry. Upon arriving, Clyde is surprised to see Pac-Man and reveals Spooky ordered him not to let Pac-Man have the Golden Fruit. Clyde then summons a robotic giant frog that grabs Clyde and the golden cherry and controls it to hop into battle. While Pac-Man fights the frog, barrels can also be seen walking around in the arena. The Killer Frog has two types of attacks: swinging the tongue or grabbing Pac-Man. Killer Frog will deploy its tongue before swinging it before retracting, and the only way to avoid it is to jump. Eventually, it will directly deploy the grabber tongue straight at you. You can butt-bounce on the tongue or rev-roll into its mouth, but if Pac-Man gets caught in the grabber, the frog retracts and starts eating Pac-Man, and the player must move the movement controls to free Pac-Man from the frog's mouth. Alternatively, you can make the frog grab the bomb barrels and eat it, which will blow up and stun the frog, leaving it's tongue vulnerable to butt bounce on.

"Pac-Man: "Had enough yet? Maybe you feel like handing over the Golden Fruit now?"
Pac-Man: "Alright, Clyde, the jig is up! How about handing over that fruit?"
Clyde: "A-argh! You're no pushover, I'll give you that, Pac-Man!"
Clyde: "All right, that's enough playing around. Time for my ace in the hole! No more "Mr. Nice Clyde!"
Pac-Man: "H-Hey, hold on, where are you sticking that Golden Fruit?! Clyde?!"
Pac-Man: "It really ate it... I'm getting a frog in my throat."

After Pac-Man damages the Frog three times, Clyde uses the golden cherry and makes the Frog eat it, encasing its body in gold. Now, the tongue claw is replaced with a spike ball, and the only way to damage the frog is to rev-roll into its glowing core in its mouth. The fight continues as normal but the Frog has a new attack: deploying the tongue in the air and slamming it directly on Pac-Man. However, its spike ball gets stuck in the ground, so the player must take this opportunity to jump on the tongue and rev-roll into the frog's mouth. After three hits, the frog blows up and malfunctions. Clyde bangs on the mechanical amphibian but it explodes, which not only blows up Clyde’s body, but also reveals the Golden Cherry for Pac-Man to regain.
