Pac-Man Wiki

Occasionally, multiple instances of the same character exist at the same time. Ghosts seem to exhibit this property more than anyone else, as it seems to be a natural ability of theirs.

Appearances[]

Super Pac-Man: In the fourth cutscene, eight of each Ghost Gang member (32 total) appear all at once in a rectangular formation in order to attack a giant Pac-Man. They fuse into four giant blue ghosts and Pac-Man splits into 32 regularly sized Pac-Mans.

Pac-Mania: Funky has duplicates from Sandbox Land onward.

Pac-Man Arrangement: Up to 4 Kinkies can spawn in any given level. Furthermore, many green Kinkies can be seen loading into the Emperor Ghost in the final level.

Pac-Man Remix: The Blinky boss fight consists of a large Blinky splitting into many smaller ghosts while a Power Pellet is active, then re-forming to attack again.

Pac-Man Vs.: A new type of ghost that's partially transparent replaces any missing ghost players. The remaining ghost players can make duplicates of themselves by passing through these blank ghosts and converting them.

Pac-Man Championship Edition DX: When Pac-Man passes by a ghost, they will enter a Ghost Train. If the ghost being passed by is a member of the Ghost Gang, their eyes will duplicate and enter the ghost house while their old body is still chasing Pac-Man as part of the train.

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2: Although the ghost trains return, the Ghost Gang cannot join them. They can and do, however, fuse hundreds of copies of themselves into mega-ghosts. When the mega-ghosts are defeated, Pac-Man's extra lives become duplicates and attack alongside him.

Pac-Man 256: Ghosts randomly spawn as the level is being generated with no regard as to how many copies of that ghost are already on-screen, so duplicates are exceedingly common. Also, Funky and Sue spawn in rows, purposefully utilizing duplicates in order to wall off Pac-Man.
