Fever Pac-World (フィーバーパックワールド Fībā Pakku Wārudo) is a series of pachinko machines released in 2001 by Sankyo. Three variants of the game were produced, all of which feature a video screen and similar gameplay. The first machine released was CR Fever Pac-World SP, which was later followed by DX and GP models.

Gameplay[]

Pachinko[]

The pachinko portion works like any other pachinko machine. Balls are launched from the bottom corner, and must be shot down the playfield in order to get points. Pachinko is usually associated with gambling, but it is unclear if that is the case with Fever Pac-World (which may use tickets or medals instead).

Video[]

(Note: video gameplay is inferred from video footage; may be slightly incorrect.)

The video portion begins as a slot machine, where three numbers/pictures must be lined up correctly. Occasionally there will be a fake-out where it will line up the first two numbers, than stop at the final one. After this, something will happen on the screen to line the numbers up in a different manner.

Occasionally after a fake-out, Pac-Man will break through the wall and dance; the player is then sent into a minigame. Minigames include:

  • Platformer where Pac-Man must jump across the tight gaps. There are both Forest and Ice levels.
  • Surfing game where Pac-Man must do full circles around the wave to get correct number.

Completing the minigame will result in the final number being lined up correctly.

Trivia[]

  • The "Fever" in the game's title refers to the Sankyo series of pachinko machines itself, which began production in 1980. However, the name may also serve as a reference to Pac-Man Fever.[1]
