Gashapon (ガシャポン Gashapon) is a line of vending machines produced by Bandai. Gashapon function similarly to gumball machines: by inserting enough money into the machine and then turning its crank, customers will obtain a capsule that contains a toy, figurine, or other small collectible. Typically, each individual Gashapon offers a small set of toys that are often themed after a popular brand.
Gashapon have appeared in some recent titles in the Pac-Man series, in which they are used to collect in-game Figures. Additionally, certain pieces of Pac-Man-themed merchandise have been released through Gashapon.

Pac-Man Museum+[]

In Pac-Man Museum+, a set of two Gashapon appear in the arcade. By default, they appear in the northwest corner of the room, but the player is allowed to move them to any area they desire. They are also one of the few fixtures that cannot be removed from the room.
The Gashapon serves as the sole method of obtaining Figures. The player must spend 5 coins to use the Gashapon; if they do, they will receive a random Figure.
Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac[]

In Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac, a set of Gashapon appear in Clie's Arcade in Pac-Village. They are used to obtain figures that aren't found in any of the game's levels. The base game contains 12 Gashapon, each offering a set of figures that are unified under a common theme (e.g., power-ups, specific worlds, etc.). At the start of the game, only 3 of the Gashapon may be used; the rest must be unlocked either by completing Missions or by playing Galaxian Mazes. If the Sonic the Hedgehog Collaboration Set DLC is purchased, an additional thirteenth Gashapon containing figures based on the Sonic the Hedgehog series is unlocked.
Compared to the one in Museum+, the Gashapon in this game have been slightly reworked. It costs 3 Coins to use a Gashapon. If the player chooses to do so, they will receive a random figure from the Gashapon's corresponding set; however, if the player receives a duplicate, they are also given the option to refund it for 3 Coins.
