Pac-Man Wiki

Ghost Bayou is the third level on Ghost Island, and the 24th level overall, in Pac-Man World 2 and its remake, Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac. In this stage, Pac-Man must traverse a long, bewildering maze in order to defeat the evil tree, Wormwood. It is the penultimate level of the game, being followed by the final battle against Spooky.

This is the longest level in the entire game, and features a large amount of dialogue and cutscenes narrated by Wormwood. The player must locate several switches to traverse through the maze. The bayou is primarily inhabited by Skeletons. Later in the level, Wormwood tests Pac-Man by asking him to destroy 20 of his "skeletal minions" within 30 seconds; if Pac-Man fails to do so, he will instantly lose a life (or as Wormwood puts it, "his time will truly run out").

Trivia[]

  • There is a shortcut in this level, allowing a large amount of its contents to be skipped. Just after the initial bridge ends (with the extra life and green switch), running or Rev-Rolling to the right will land Pac-Man in a much later portion of the stage.
    • Even though the level's default Time Trial is 6:42, this shortcut allows the stage to be beaten in less than a minute-and-a-half.
  • This is the only level in the game to feature switches, and the only non-boss stage to have scripted cutscenes within the level itself.
  • This level has the highest number of Pac-Dots in the game, with 535 total. This is over 200 dots higher than the second-highest number, that being Ice River Run at 333 Pac-Dots total. This level also has the highest number of Melons in the game (13).
  • This is the final level to contain a Galaxian.
