The Golden Apple that Clyde picks off the tree.

The Golden Fruit are five magical fruit that appear in Pac-Man World 2 and Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac. They are a very valuable set of power-ups that grant whoever consumes them an advantage of their abilities, but were mainly used on the tree in Pac-Village to imprison Spooky in its roots.

History[]

Pac-Man World 2[]

Long ago, the great Wizard Pac took five fruit (Cherries, a Strawberry, an Apple, a Pear, and a bunch of Bananas) and transformed them into magical fruit. Sir Pac-A-Lot used the Golden Fruit to defeat Spooky and imprison him under the Golden Fruit Tree in the center of Pac-Village. Thousands of years later, the Ghost Gang (Blinky, Inky, Pinky, and Clyde) unwittingly picked the fruit from the tree as one of their mindless games. But a storm appeared in the sky and Spooky was unleashed. The Ghost Gang followed Spooky in his quest to destroy Pac-Land by taking the Golden Fruit. When the Professor told him about this, Pac-Man headed on a quest to defeat the Ghost Gang obtaining one Golden Fruit, one at a time and restore peace in Pac-Land.

At the end of the game he uses the five Golden Fruit and turns gold to defeat Spooky and imprison him back under the tree.

Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac[]

In this game, the Golden Fruit reenact their role from the original game, although the Golden Pear and Bananas were replaced by the Golden Orange and Golden Melon respectively. Throughout the game's progress, the Ghost Gang use the Golden Fruit they hold to power up their respective machines, giving the contraptions aditional or sometimes faster and more letal abilities than their base forms in an attempt to stop Pac-Man.

Each time Pac-Man has defeated one of the bosses, the Golden Fruit will be placed back in the center of the Pac-Village, withering one of Wormwood's roots, making the corresponding fruit to sprout across the crops and allowing the player to explore the following world of Pac-Land.

Towards the end of the story, Spooky himself gets hold of the Golden Fruits, first absorbing the Cherries, the Strawberry and the Orange to clone himself, and then takes the remaining two fruit in order to become a giant. But even with this enhancement, Pac-Man manages to take back the fruits from him and use them to break his staff, banishing Spooky for good. With their remaining power, Pac-Man is able to restore the Pac-Village, erasing the damages Spooky caused before being placed back in their spot at the Golden Fruit Tree.

In the Post-Game it is also revealed that Pac-Man was actually the Pac-Knight that defeated Spooky for the first time and locked him in the Golden Fruit Tree with the Golden Fruit's power.
