Into the Volcano is the first Volcano level, and the 14th level overall, in Pac-Man World 2 and its remake, Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac. In the latter game, the level's name has an exclamation mark added to it, creating "Into the Volcano!" This level features the only appearance of Pookas in the game, as well as the Pooka Plant, who only appears once in the original but has significantly more appearances in Re-Pac. It's also the first level to feature Stonies.
In the original game, the level marker is white, carried over from the previous world; this is the last level to have a white marker. Also, there isn't much lava in this level, despite its name; in fact, there's even waterfalls at one point. The Galaxian's maze, however, is covered in lava, which inadvertently causes a spoiler due to how early it shows up in the level. This was fixed in Re-Pac, first by moving the Galaxian's location to far later in the level, in an area with lava, then by not requiring the player to complete a maze.
In the Japanese version, the final, lava-less section of the level was done away with. Re-Pac's version of this level is notable as the only area in the whole game to use the falling pillars, which now function as see-saw platforms. The other two volcano levels and Avalanche Alley all had their falling pillar sections redone in some way.
