Krome Keeper in Pac-Man World Re-Pac.
Description[]
The Krome Keeper is located in a big, metallic room with a giant pool of a green liquid that harms Pac-Man on contact. The Krome Keeper robot is in the back of the room, running on a treadmill while boxes on a treadmill in front of him roll down. Pac-Man cannot have physical contact with the Krome Keeper, for there is a strip of green liquid in front of the box treadmill that Pac-Man can't get across. On each side of the big green pool, there are two small switches on the floor, and one in the back, facing Krome Keeper. However, the switches are hot, so Pac-Man cannot Butt Bounce on them without taking damage. Also, on the ceiling, there are three large magnets circling the green pool. The Krome Keeper's long health bar is at the bottom of the screen.
Battle[]
To defeat Krome Keeper, you must turn his own factory against him. Remember those boxes rolling in front of Krome Keeper? When they come in front of him, he'll kick them out onto Pac-Man's area. Most of these boxes are metal, and just explode on contact. The less frequent kinds are made of wood, and don't break on contact with the ground. Pac-Man needs to destroy these, and get the Chrome Suit inside them. Now Pac-Man can Butt Bounce on the Steam Switches without being harmed. However, the big magnets rotating around the pool can pick Pac-Man up and hold him until the power-up wears off. Or they'll drop him in the liquid, which won't harm him while wearing the Chrome Suit, but will keep him at the bottom of the pool, and waste his time of getting to all the switches. Pac-Man can wriggle free from the magnet's grasp should he get picked up. In order to damage the Krome Keeper, Pac-Man must hit all four switches, which will open up the fifth switch in the front of the pool. After hitting all of the switches, a large piece of metal will come down and hit Krome Keeper in the head. However, he must do this quickly, as the switches will reset after a certain amount of time. Repeat this, and the player will defeat Krome Keeper, and gains 5,000 points.
Re-Pac[]
In Pac-Man World Re-Pac, The arena is set on conveyor belts. Toc-Man appears and channels an energy orb and throws it to the back of the room before it magnetizes all metal parts to form the Krome Keeper. It frequently running on a treadmill at the back connected to a pipe bridge that is hot on contact. On conveyor belts, random crates and bomb boxes appear on conveyor belts. In the first phase, the Krome Keeper will stop to lock on to pac man and hit them with its claws before retracting. On the conveyor belts, there only bomb boxes and crates that spawn at random and 3 big magnets can pick up bomb boxes at first contact. Occasionally, Krome Keep can stomp on the treadmill to rain down gears on boxes to reveal flamethrowers or blow up bomb boxes. The player must be on the look out for metal chests that spawn on the conveyor belts so they can break it open and get the Chrome Suit inside it. This can allow Pac-Man to run on the pipe bridge and rev roll into Krome Keeper without being harmed. However, the player must evade the big magnets near the pipe bridge and conveyor belts as it can pick Pac-Man up and hold him until the power-up wears off/
Once Krome Keeper was hit 2 times, he then attaches 4 bottle rocket launchers on its shoulders and pressured steam boxes spawn on the conveyor belts that the player needs to be on the look out. The fight proceeds as normal but now it will occasionally stop and fire 4 rockets and home in towards Pac-Man but the rockets itself can blow up on contact with bomb boxes or crates.
After Krome Keeper was hit 2 more times, it magnetizes and 2 laser cannons are attached to its arms and now 2 more big magnets are deployed over the conveyor belts. Fight proceeds as normal but Krome Keeper can now target a spot and fire laser beams before aiming it to the opposite side of the map replacing its claw attack. The process of getting Chrome Suit and run on the pipe bridge to hit Krome Keeper remains the same but the player must evade the big magnets on the arena. Once the Krome Keeper for the last 2 times, it is defeated. Krome Keeper's body malfunctions before it shuts down, falling through the pipe bridge and into the pit before blowing up.
Trivia[]
- Krome Keeper's body resembles Guts Man from Mega Man 1, and Stone Man from Mega Man 5.
- There is an extra life on a pipe on the right side of the room. Pac-Man cannot reach it. The player needs to coax the Krome Keeper to kick a wooden box right in front of the pipe by standing in front of it. Then, jump on the box, then onto the pipe, and grab the Extra Life.
