Mega Run meets Pac-Man is a Japanese mobile game, released in 2016 as part of the Namco Catalog IP program. It is a modified version of Mega Run, another mobile game from 2012, with a Pac-Man theme. The game was removed from digital stores in April 2020, alongside all other Pac-Man Catalog IP releases.
Gameplay[]
Mega Run meets Pac-Man is a 2D platformer; it plays similarly to an "endless runner" game, though it has a proper end goal and level structure. The player character moves automatically, and can jump to avoid enemies and obstacles. Each level has numerous coins and power-ups, as well as three collectible, colored gems (blue, green, and red); the level layouts have multiple paths the player can take. Once the player reaches the level's end goal - a giant coin surrounded with balloons - they are awarded a ranking out of three stars. Completing levels will increase the player's XP meter, which can be used to unlock more characters.
The contents of Mega Run meets Pac-Man are effectively identical to the original Mega Run. The only major differences are the playable characters and background music; all other gameplay elements and art assets (enemies, backgrounds, etc.) are shared between both versions.
