Nintendo Co., Ltd. (任天堂株式会社) is a Japanese company founded in 1889, who currently focuses in the video game industry. Nintendo is one of the biggest and most well-known companies in the gaming market; being responsible for consoles such as the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Wii, and franchises such as Super Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong. The company has multiple global subsidiaries, including the U.S.-based Nintendo of America, Inc. in Redmond, Washington.

Nintendo and its affiliates have had many collaborations with Namco (and later, Bandai Namco), often in connection with the Pac-Man series. This includes the development and publishing of Pac-Man games by Nintendo, as well as third-party releases of Pac-Man games on Nintendo consoles (e.g. Pac-Man for the NES). Additionally, Namco has worked on development for games based on Nintendo's IPs, such as the Mario Kart Arcade GP series.
