In 2003, a Pac-Man coin pusher was released. The machine plays by standard coin pusher rules, without any deviations from the standard formula; it supports up to eight players.
The machine was developed by Mazooma, a UK-based company who also released numerous Pac-Man-themed fruit machines. In Europe, it was seemingly distributed by "The Jumping Bean Company": a subsidiary of Bell-Fruit Games, which in itself is a subsidiary of Mazooma. In North America, the machine was distributed by ICE.[1]
Trivia[]
- The American version of the machine dispenses tickets by default; by operator request, an alternate version could be purchased that dispenses coins instead. In contrast, the European version appears to use the coin-dispensing function by default; it is unknown if the ticket dispenser was an option for the European release.
- The music of the Pac-Man coin pusher is reused from Mazooma's fruit machines; the music can also be disabled entirely by the arcade operator.
