Pac-Man Basket is an arcade basketball game released in 2013 (?) by Bandai Namco Amusement America. It is a Super Shot-styled game in which the player must shoot basketballs into a hoop that moves left and right.
Overview[]
Pac-Man Basket appears to be rebranded from another machine known as Street Basketball, originally produced by Saint-Fun International Ltd.[1] Compared to the original, Pac-Man Basket features artwork based on Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, and uses remixed music and sound effects based on the original Pac-Man arcade game.
Trivia[]
- While Pac-Man Basket was technically released in Japan, it did not enter full production in the region; with only select, Namco-operated arcades featuring the machine (such as Pac-Man Zone locations).
- When shown at IAAPA 2012, the game was displayed as being "under construction", and had less varied artwork than the final machine (with all Pac-Man renders being in the same pose).[2]
- Pac-Man Basket remained in production until the early 2020s; having a much longer production run compared to the other Ghostly Adventures-themed redemption games. However, the game would be superseded in production by Pac-Man Baller in 2022, another arcade basketball game.
