Pac-Man Geo was an iOS and Android game, released in October 2020. The game was removed from digital stores on October 28th, 2021, and is currently unplayable in any form.
Overview[]
Pac-Man Geo is based on the classic Pac-Man formula gameplay-wise. However, the mazes are generated based on actual locations around the world, which are selected from a world map. Based on Google Maps technology, it is considered the follow-up to the "April Fool's" Pac-Man Google Maps game, now as a full-fledged product.
Gameplay[]
The game has two gameplay modes:
Map Mode[]
The player can select an area of the map to generate a maze to play in it.
Tour Mode[]
Play designated stages available for a limited time, and compete against players worldwide to see who can rack up the highest score. Each tour is divided into three rounds, and the game will calculate and rank the player's score against other users.
In tour mode, the player's remaining time is replenished upon clearing a stage, and their score is carried over as the next stage begins. The difficulty level of the game increases as it progresses. The game can be continued until all lives are lost, which results in a game over.
Rewards and Items[]
As rewards throughout the game, the player can get objects related to the location. The items you obtain can be usable or collectible items. The collectibles include miniatures of tourist sites, fruits, and animals, among others.

Trivia[]
- Pac-Man Geo was announced in early 2019 - a year-and-a-half before the final release - showcased at Google's GDC booth (alongside Pac in Town). A playable demo was shown at the event; this prototype build had a much larger map radius, but could only be played for 99 seconds before the game was over.[1]
- The game may have been inspired by the cancelled Super GPS Pac-Man from 2000.
- The fruits in Tour Mode appear in the same order as the original Pac-Man game.
