Pac-Man Hammer Match (パックマン ハンマーマッチ Pakkuman Hanmā Matchi) is a mechanical arcade game released in 2016 by Bandai Namco Amusement. It is a Pac-Man-themed variant of Hammer Match, a game released by Korean manufacturer PurseOne in 2013.[1]
Gameplay[]
Pac-Man Hammer Match is a two-player game, with both players on opposing ends of the machine; one player is represented as Pac-Man, and the other as Blinky. Each player must rapidly alternate between pressing two large buttons; whichever player presses the buttons faster will earn a point. A soft mallet in the center of the machine will slam down onto the losing player's end of the cabinet (potentially hitting their hands in the process). The game ends after a time limit of approximately 30 seconds; the player with the most points is declared the winner.
Compared to the original Hammer Match, the Pac-Man version plays a rendition of the original Pac-Man opening theme, as well as sound effects from the game.
Trivia[]
- The original Hammer Match featured both an "amusement mode" and a "ticket mode"; it is currently unknown if the Pac-Man version has a ticket-dispensing function.
