Pac-Man Pinball (パックマン・ピンボール Pakkuman Pinbōru) is a mobile game released in 2003 by Namco. It is a video pinball game themed after Pac-Land. It was followed by a sequel titled Pac-Man Pinball Deluxe.
It was originally released in Japan under the name Pinball NOW! (ピンボール NOW!Pinbōru NOW!),[1] and was later re-released as simply Pinball Game; while also being sold under the Pac-Man Pinball title.[3] Some releases appear to feature enhanced, higher-resolution graphics.
Gameplay[]
Pac-Man Pinball plays similarly to the Famicom/NES Pinball game, sharing several of its mechanics. The table layout features an upper and a lower playfield, both of which feature artwork based on Pac-Land.
Hitting a small, rectangular bumper on the righthand side of the top playfield will trigger a slot machine minigame. In the slot machine, lining up two fruits will gain the player more points, or trigger a timed score multiplier.
Trivia[]
Prerelease cover for Pac-Man Pinball Advance.
- Prerelease cover art for Pac-Man Pinball Advance - an otherwise-unrelated Game Boy Advance game - uses the title artwork and logo of the Pac-Man Pinball mobile game. It is unknown if this cover was officially produced, or if it was from an unofficial outlet.
- Most U.S. releases of the game feature rather poor graphic scaling, likely as a result of the smaller resolution of the original Japanese version. Some releases use poorly-stretched graphics to better fit the screen; other versions use unaltered graphics, while adding a large black border to fill the larger screen space.
- Some regional releases of the game are titled Pac-Man Flipper.
