Pac-Man Wiki

Pac-Man Power Pellets is an arcade redemption game released by Bandai Namco Amusement America in 2022. It is a mechanical-based game with video elements.

Gameplay[]

The player must throw a series of "Power Pellets" (which are physical, peach-colored balls) into the mouths of three colored, 3D-molded Pac-Man targets. When a Pac-Man is successfully fed, the Power Pellet appears on the video screen below. The bottom screen acts as a Plinko-like game, in which the Power Pellet is dropped through a series of pegs before landing on a target at the bottom of the playfield. The game targets include:

  • Fruits - Act as point bonuses.
  • Pac-Man - These targets will eat the Power Pellet within the video screen, turning any Ghost targets blue for 10 seconds (see below).
  • Ghosts - These targets have no function or point bonus initially; but they will turn blue if a Pac-Man target is hit, in which they can be eaten for points.

On the top of the screen, a "bonus requirement" is listed beneath the player's score (e.g. 30,000 points). If the player reaches (or surpasses) this score, they will be taken to a slot machine-like bonus round at the end of the game; awarding more points and/or tickets.

The player is given a time limit of approximately 60 seconds. The game is over when the time is up, with the player being given a ranking based on their score. The machine features options for both an "amusement mode" and a "ticket mode", the latter awarding tickets based on the player's score.

Trivia[]

  • The game is known to have been test marketed in Europe as early as 2020, though did not enter full production in any region until 2022.[1]
