Pac-Man Slider, originally known as Pac-Man Pinger, is an arcade air hockey table, developed by Spanish manufacturer Sam Billiards and originally released in 2023 by Bandai Namco Amusement America.
The game is connected to a "series" of Pac-Man redemption games known as the "Pac-Man Street Range", each of which features "street art"-like designs. Other titles in this set include Pac-Man Baller, Pac-Man Roller, and Pac-Man Whack-The-Ghosties.
Overview[]
Pac-Man Slider is a rebranded version of Sam Billiards' standard-sized air hockey table.[1] Some models appear to remove the marquee/scoreboard, while others do not. The machine features options for both an "amusement mode" and a "ticket mode", the latter awarding tickets based on the player's score.
Trivia[]
- The game was originally released under the name "Pac-Man Pinger". The name was changed to "Pac-Man Slider" in reprints released from late 2023 onward; this is presumably due to "pinger" being slang for the illegal drug MDMA (ecstasy).
- Pac-Man Pinger/Slider could be considered the successor to the Matic Entretenimento version of Pac-Man Air Hockey, similar to how Pac-Man Baller was released as a successor to Pac-Man Basket. However, Pac-Man Air Hockey still remains in production following this machine's release (albeit only as a "home version" model).
- Unlike the prior two "Street Range" machines, this game was not developed by WIK Amusement (despite that WIK also produces air hockey tables).
