Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2, known in Japan as Pac-World 2 (パックワールド2 Pakkuwārudo Tsū) is the sequel to Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. It was developed by Monkey Bar Games and published by Bandai Namco Games in 2014. It is the third (fourth if the Nintendo 3DS version of the first game is counted) and final game in the Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures series.

Gameplay[]

While similar to the original Ghostly Adventures at its core, Ghostly Adventures 2 features refined gameplay and control over the original. The player controls Pac-Man, and must reach the medal at the end of the stage. There are many level gimmicks, the majority of which are very similar to (and likely inspired by) those in Super Mario Galaxy. Some levels feature 2D platformer sections as well, although they mostly serve as tutorials or bonus games. There are also shooting segments, some of which star Cylindria.

Trivia[]

  • Unlike the previous Ghostly Adventures game, all versions are effectively identical to each other in gameplay, including the Nintendo 3DS release.
  • The game was removed from all European and Australian digital storefronts in late 2018 for unknown reasons. The game was delisted from the Japanese and American stores alongside other Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures-related titles in 2020, including the first game and Pac-Man Museum.
  • A PC version of the game was planned to be released on Steam, but was canceled for unknown reasons.[1]
  • Most Japanese releases of the game were only available as digital downloads, rather than physical releases on disc; though the Nintendo 3DS version was released on cartridge.
    • The Xbox 360 version of the game was published digitally in Japan, despite that the first game was not available on the 360 in the region.
  • This is the final game developed by Monkey Bar Games before the studio's closure in 2016.
  • This is the final Pac-Man game to be released on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, excluding Virtual Console re-releases of previous Pac-Man games. Nintendo consoles would later see more frequent original Pac-Man releases with the Nintendo Switch, starting with Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 Plus.
  • The game canonically takes place after the events of the TV show.
  • Music from Pac-Man Championship Edition is notably reused for the tutorial sequences.
