Pixel Runner! is a Japanese mobile game, released in 2018 by M2K as part of the Namco Catalog IP program. It is a crossover between classic Namco franchises, most prominently Pac-Man. The game was removed from digital stores in April 2020, alongside all other Pac-Man Catalog IP releases.

Gameplay[]

Pixel Runner is a basic 2D running game. The character moves automatically, and must jump with precise timing to avoid obstacles. Collecting three items will temporarily turn the player invincible. Running into any obstacle will end the game.

Characters[]

Characters are unlocked by collecting 100 coins. They are selected randomly, and may end up being duplicates. The level landscapes change to represent the origin game of the character chosen. Pac-Man is unlocked from the start. Note that the character list is inferred from incomplete documentation of the game, and may not be 100% accurate.

Trivia[]

  • Pixel Runner's music was composed by the band "YMCK", who generally release music in a chiptune style. The three band members/caricatures - Midori, Yokemura, and Nakamura - appear in the game as unlockable characters; in addition to their alter-egos from the song "Phantom Thief Swingers" (Verde, Evitado, and Centro).[1][2]
  • The game was produced by an all-female development team.[3]
