"President Possessed!" is the sixth episode of Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. It premiered on June 24th, 2013.
Plot[]
"Pac and his pals grow suspicious when President Spheros starts behaving strangely. They eventually realize that Spheros has been possessed. Unfortunately, he declares Pac and pals Public Enemies and puts out a city wide [sic] Pac-Man-Hunt!" |
The episode opens in Maze High School, where (most of) the students in Ms. Globular's class eagerly await the arrival of President Spheros, whom Pac invited to come talk to him and his classmates. Just then, the class receives a distress call from the President himself; he asks Pac for help as his limousine has been attacked by a swarm of ghosts.
Pac and his two cohorts, Spiral and Cylindria, rush outside to find the Ghosts carrying away the limo in a tornado-like formation. Thinking on his feet, Pac eats an Ice Berry and freezes the swarm, forcing them to drop their target, before creating an icy slope to prevent the limo from crashing on the ground. Then, Pac starts chomping the ghosts to prevent them from whisking the President away again. Spiral and Cylindria use their PSCs to neutralize the remaining ghosts, but two of them manage to slip into the high school. Pac chases them into the cafeteria, where they try to attack the yellow Pac-Worlder by throwing food at him. However, Pac simply eats their ammunition, allowing him to chomp the two ghosts with ease. Meanwhile, Cylindria, Spiral, and two Feds guard Spheros from incoming ghosts. When none of them are looking, Dr. Buttocks sneaks into the limo and possesses the President. Although they all hear something from inside the vehicle, and notice the remaining ghosts inexplicably retreating, nothing seems to be wrong. When Spheros outright refuses to stay and talk to the class, however, the trio becomes suspicious.
Later, Betrayus calls Buttocks to see if he has made any progress in finding the Repository. Although Buttocks takes the opportunity to gloat about how his Corporeal Occupation Extenuator allows him to possess Spheros' body for as long as he wants, he has not made much progress. At that moment, Pac enters the office to ask Spheros if he was upset at him. Pac becomes confused when Spheros seemingly launches into an angry, incoherent tirade in which he mentions finding the Repository. In reality, Dr. Buttocks and Betrayus are simply bickering with each other. All while this is happening, Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde enter Betrayus' throne room and witness him hurling insults at seemingly no one. When Betrayus becomes aware of their presence, he quickly shoos them out of the room, despite, as Inky points out, having summoned them. Pac find himself restless that night as he ponders over the cause of the President's strange behavior. While he is thinking, he, Spiral, and Cylindria hear an ominous noise coming from the roof; the noise turns out to come from the Ghost Gang, who warn the trio about how Betrayus' erratic behavior. Pac and Spiral wonder whether Betrayus' behavior was connected to Spheros' while Cylindria suggests that the President may have been possessed.
The next day, Spiral, Cylindria, and Pac visit Sir Cumference to get some answers. Unfortunately for them, they walk in just as the scientist is about to test his newest creation, the Paco-Strobo-Cacophonator, a device that produces a blinding light and an irritating high-pitched sound when activated. The trio are about to tell Sir C why they came, but they are forced to hide when Spheros enters the lab. Betrayus intends to trick Sir C into divulging the location of the Repository, but Dr. Buttocks gets distracted by the sight of the lab. The two ghosts proceed to quarrel once more, which leaves the scientist (who is unaware of the fact that Spheros is possessed) baffled. While this is happening, Fuzbitz gets suspicious of Spheros and attacks him. The trio are forced out of their hiding spot during the ensuing chaos, and then they flee from the lab once the President realizes they're there.
Buttocks (as Spheros) summons federal agents and Pac Police Officers to apprehend the trio under the pretense that they attacked him. The teens easily evade the Feds by entering Pacopolis' tube system, but they have a more difficult time escaping the police. Eventually, they manage to outrun them by entering a tube with oncoming traffic, causing their pursuers to collide with another officer. The three manage to throw off the police again when they disguise themselves as mannequins in a boutique. With the police temporarily thrown off the trail, Pac plans to sneak back to his dorm room and get his backup Power Berry supply, but this respite is abruptly interrupted when the President makes a live announcement. To the teens' horror, Spheros falsely accuses them of assaulting him and orders all Pac-Worlders to report them to the police.
Police activity escalates in the city as digital wanted posters are flashed across the city. Despite the current situation making it more risky to do so, Pac, Spiral, and Cylindria decide to continue with their original plan. Meanwhile, within the presidential limousine, Dr. Buttocks explains to the Betrayus that this is all part of his plan to obtain both the Repository and the Tree of Life. Pac manages to successfully retrieve his backup supply, but he ends eating all but one of the Berries in the process. The teens are about to prepare their next move when the President and his legion of Ghosts catches up to them. As Spheros, Buttocks demands that they surrender their Power Berries and tell him the locations of the Repository and the Tree of Life; Pac counters by saying that the real President would already know classified information such as that. He then asks the imposter in front of him for to prove he is indeed the real Spheros. Buttocks falters for a bit, but Betrayus saves him by telling him some of Spheros' embarrassing secrets (such as his intolerance to peas). Spiral and Cylindria initially fall for it; however, Pac quickly points out that the real Spheros would never work with Ghosts. When the mad scientist can't produce a good answer, Betrayus orders him to simply say he won. Unbeknownst to them, Pac listens in on this conversation and realizes that the President's voice changed. At this point, Dr. Buttocks reveals not only his true identity but that he is also holding Sir Cumference hostage. Upon seeing the scientist, Pac pretends to submit to Buttocks' demand and gives him the Paco-Strobo-Cacophonator. Spiral, Cylindria, and Sir C all realize what is about to happen and ready themselves, but Buttocks, who genuinely believes he is holding the Berry Dispenser, turns on the device. The light and sound it emits are so painful that it ejects Buttocks out of Spheros' body and flings the mad scientist onto the wall of the dorm building. The rest of the Ghosts, led by the Ghost Gang, decide to run away.
Now in control of his own body once more, Spheros announces what really happened to Pac-World's citizens. Sir Cumference plans to find a way to protect the President from being possessed again. The President then asks the Pac, Cylindria, and Spiral if Dr. Buttocks had made him say anything humiliating; the trio decides to lie and say "no." Relieved, the President decides to invite them all to grab some food. Pac then whispers to Spheros that they won't order peas, mortifying him.
