The Repository
The Repository is a reoccurring object in Pacman and the Ghostly Adventures. It's a large, metal, cylindrical container with a near infinite storage capacity that contains the bodies of ghosts.
History[]
The Repository appears to have been the creation of Sir Cumference and was designed to imprison and preserve the bodies of Betrayus and his army as punishment for starting the Pac World War and plunging the world into chaos while their spirits were condemned to the Netherworld. With its task complete, the Repository was hidden away inside the Round House where no one could find it, cleverly hidden in plain sight by being disguised as a lamp table.
Many years after Betrayus and his army were banished to the Netherworld and imprisoned there, the gateway to the Netherworld was reopened by Pac-Man, allowing ghosts to flood Pac-World once more and wreak havoc while also trying to located the Repository. Fortunately, the Repository was kept safe and the ghosts were defeated thanks to the efforts of Pac-Man and his friends. Though, this would not deter the ghostly army from making more attacks on Pac-World to reclaim the Repository.
Trivia[]
- The Repository presented a number of inconsistencies within the show which were never quite explained:
- It is never made clear why exactly the bodies of Betrayus and his army were preserved inside the Repository, especially since they were banished to the Netherworld for their crimes and President Spheros made it clear that he had no intention of giving them their bodies back. Not even to his own brother.
- Although never outright stated, it is possible that there was a timed sentence placed on the ghosts before they escaped in which they would've gotten their bodies back after enough years of imprisonment passed, but after their escape, the return of their bodies likely became a mute point.
- As far as real world reasons are concerned, it is likely that the plot of the Repository simply exists as a way to avoid having to bring up death and executions in a children's show and also give good ghosts such as the Ghost Gang a chance at getting their bodies back.
- Despite the Round House's hesitance to give the ghosts back their bodies, Spheros initially agreed to give the Ghost Gang their bodies back if they helped Pac-Man, and although the gang did briefly betray Pac-Man, they did ultimately honor their deal after some persuasion from Pinky, but in spite of their help, Spheros never kept his end of the bargain and he would continue to treat the Ghost Gang as enemies.
- Spheros and Sir Cumference often claim that they could not allow Betrayus to reclaim his body as he would then be unstoppable and the Pac World War would begin again, but this claim is rather questionable as Betrayus is considerably weak and powerless when compared to his powers as a fire ghost, and as seen in various flashbacks, Betrayus was even more incompetent and cowardly when he still had his body. The same argument has also been used for why the other ghosts cannot be allowed to reclaim their bodies.
