Space Race is the 8th level in Pac-Man World and its remake, Pac-Man World Re-Pac, and the 1st level in the Space Area. This level introduces purple aliens, which are spinning aliens that Pac-Man can bounce on. Lasers are introduced as well, which disappear and reappear over and over again.

Trivia

• The name of the level is derived from the term used to describe the 20th century competition between the United States and Soviet Union to achieve superior spaceflight capability.
• This is one of the only two levels in which a P-A-C-M-A-N letter appears after Pac-Man opens a chest; the other one is its successor, Far Out. Interestingly, the M appears after Pac-Man opens the chest in both levels, and the chest Pac-Man must open has a Cherry in it.
• This is one of the only two levels in which the C is in a Cherry Door; the other one is Grave Danger.
• This is one of the only three levels in which:
  • The second A is in a Banana Door; the other ones are Crazy Cannonade and Clowning Around.
  • The N is in a Bell Door; the other ones are Crisis Cavern and Under Pressure.
