Specter is a character and antagonist in Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. He is a suave and charismatic spy ghost who worked for Betrayus.
Appearance[]
He is a tall gray Fire Ghost with a curved appendage on his head resembling well-styled hair. He wears a cravat with a black bow-tie on his chest and white cuffs on his wrist. He is apparently considered very attractive by Ghost standards and has a very handsome and suave face. Even Pinky was not immune to his good looks and showed interest in him, but she still stayed true to her love for Pac-Man.
Personality[]
Specter is sly, charming, and manipulative. These traits make him very popular amongst the other ghosts. However, he has also been shown exceedingly arrogant and overconfident.
Abilities[]
As a Fire Ghost, Specter is able produce fire from his hand. However, he is also able to fire bolts of electricity. This allows him to interfere with computers and other machinery without outright destroying them.
Specter is also able to possess PacWorlders for much longer than most other Ghosts. He attributes this skill to his "tenth-degree slime belt in body possession."
History[]
Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures[]
"The Spy Who Slimed Me"[]
Specter debuts in the episode "The Spy Who Slimed Me" and serves as its main antagonist. He is hired by Betrayus to penetrate Sir Cumference's lab and find the location of the Repository; however, his actual goal is to overthrow Betrayus and take command of both PacWorld and the Netherworld.
Specter is able to evade Pacster for much of the episode by possessing various PacWorlders, including Spiral and Cylindria. However, with the aid of the Ghost Gang, Pac is able to defeat him by tricking him into stealing a fake Repository and admitting to his true intentions on camera. An enraged Betrayus promptly fires him and exiles him to the "Bowels of the Netherworld."
"New Girl in Town"[]
Specter returns as a minor character in the series finale, "New Girl in Town". He acts as the host of a reality show held by Betrayus to pick a female Ghost worthy enough to possess Elliptica.
Trivia[]
- Specter is a parody of James Bond.
- In "The Spy Who Slimed Me", Specter states that he prefers slugs "seared, not steamed." This is a play on the phrase "shaken, not stirred," one of Bond's catchphrases.
- Multiple online sources list Brendon Ryan Barrett as Specter's voice actor, who was noted for voicing Casper the Friendly Ghost in Casper's Haunted Christmas.
- However Barrett is not listed in the credits for the episode and seemingly retired from voice acting in 2001.
